Viral Videos of the Week

This week’s best viral videos include new sports, a woman who’s having a really bad day, winter life hacks, Lambo crashes and the original Apple watch…

1. Watch a new sport

The latest sport taking Russia by storm is “sofa-surfing”, a phenomenon invented by Alexander Shapovalov. He claims he was planning to take his armchair to the skip, but when it wouldn’t fit in his car, he came up with another idea: he rode in the chair as his friend used his car to pull it along. Thrill-seeking from the comfort of the couch. Check it out below…

2. Watch a woman throw a tantrum

If you thought you were having a bad day, this will cheer you up. It could be worse – you could have had the day this woman’s had. We’re not sure of the exact circumstances that drove her to this, but based on her overreaction at missing her ferry by a few minutes, we’re going to assume they were pretty bad.

3. Watch winter life hacks

Sometimes winter can be long, cold and miserable. These Chemistry life hacks will tell you how to use science to make it a little bit better, with tips for defrosting your car, getting your car out of the snow, keeping your hands warm and more…

Our favourite winter life hack is jetting off somewhere hot…

4. Watch a Lamborghini Huracan crash at 200mph

Over 100,000 people have watched the first (and hopefully only) video of a Lamborghini Huracan crashing at over 200mph, and we hope they’ve all learnt something from it (like that speed limits and racing tracks exist for a reason). Thankfully, the driver and passenger both survived, although the passenger was seriously injured and the driver is now facing charges for reckless driving. You’ll see why…

5. Watch the original Apple watch

Smartwatches are becoming a regular part of our technology collections – but did you know Apple were (way) ahead of the game on this one? The original Apple watch was released in 1995, and this video shows what it looked like. It didn’t run apps, you couldn’t text from it, and it didn’t even play music – so basically, as one bemused child keeps reminding us throughout the video: “It’s just a watch!!”
