So we’re taking a look at the best mobile technology for traders, from apps to help you keep on top of the economic calendar and FX tools to the best tablets and smartphones for trading on-the-go…

1. Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2

What does it do?:

What does it do?:
This powerful user-friendly app, launched in December 2013, enables users to make accurate price forecasts into the future. 4. Sony Xperia Z1 Compact

What does it do?:

What does it do?:
From our friends at FXCM, and available to demo and live account holders, the Trading Station Mobile lets retail traders quickly and easily access the Forex market. Trades can be placed and managed on the go, charts can be viewed instantly and you can even read the latest FX news through its simple, intuitive interface purpose-designed for mobile devices including iPhones, Android phones and tablets.

6. Karma Hotspot

What does it do?: Gives you wireless internet on-the-go to make sure you’re never out of the loop. You don’t have to buy a monthly contract with Karma, just top up your data as you go (and data never expires, so you won’t waste it when you just need a few minutes’ worth). And it can link up to 8 devices at a time.

Best bits for traders: It’s all well and good downloading all of these trading apps to ensure you’re at the top of your game. Until you get stuck in a hotel or coffee shop or busy waiting room missing out on the action. So a mobile hotspot is essential for traders on the go who can’t afford to miss a minute…

7. 30/30

What does it do?:
30/30, launched last year, is an app designed to help you get stuff done. You set up a to-do list with a time for each item on the list, and then when you start the timer, it will tell you when to move on to the next task.

Best bits for traders:
This app can help you organise your trading day with alerts to make sure you never miss an important task or data release. It is designed to maximize your productivity, so you won’t find any irritating ‘extras’ or complications, just a sleek, streamlined application which will help you manage your workload.

8. Pocket Informant

How much?: £6.02 on Android (but you can try it for free before you buy)- the Apple version is free, but to get the most out of it, you’ll want to buy the premium upgrade for £10.49
Where can I get it?: Google Play Android App Store and Apple App Store

What does it do?: Pocket Informant is an app specifically designed to help you organize your days— ideal for busy traders. It allows you to track events, check for conflicts in your schedule and use AirDrop to share your commitments with your family, friends and colleagues: ideal for arranging meetings or keeping the family up to date with what you’ve got on. You can also set reminders, print calendars and divide events up by colour— no more excuses for running late.
