According the the Sunday Times Rich List, London is the super-rich capital, home to more than twice as many millionaires and billionaires as any other city in the world. So what better place to show off some of the most exclusive super yachts, prestige cars and luxury goods?
This week, London will play host to the inaugural London Yacht Jet and Prestige Car Show, a newcomer to the luxury exhibition scene promising to give London’s elite “luxury without limits”.
The show will be split across two venues. An exhibition centre at Old Billingsgate will boast displays from leading luxury yacht builders and brokers, yacht charter agents, interior designers, private jet manufacturers, jet charter agents and luxury car manufacturers as well as luxury goods and services companies (think fine art, watches, luxury gifts, fashion shows, product showcases and of course, riverside champagne bars). Then at the in-water show at St Katharine Docks, the latest super yachts will take the main stage.

The Super Yachts
First up are an impressive line-up of the latest yachts that’ll be on show at the LYJAPCS from the world’s leading yacht manufacturers…
You might know Riva as the creators of the world-famous mahogany speedboats of the 1960s, but they’re about to up their game. Their new flagship is the Riva 122 Mythos, which will set the scene for a new generation of super yachts to come. The 122 Mythos is Riva’s largest yacht to date at 38 metres and their first ever boat to be built entirely from aluminium (35 tonnes of it, to be precise). The result is an elegant, tasteful, fully customisable and technically outstanding yacht with a top speed of 32mph, comfortable cruising speed of 30mph, and plenty of the Riva wow factor.
Princess Yachts need no introduction in the world of super yachts, and they’re bringing not one but several yachts to exhibit at the LYJAPCS. The ones to watch out for are the Princess 98 Motor Yacht, one of the most luxurious yachts Princess have ever created with a vast flybridge and plenty of scope for customisation (including room for a spa bath and jet ski garage); and the S72 Sportbridge, which boasts incredible space and performance, with top speeds of 38 knots and plenty of power.
The latest project from Sunrise Yachts will also be one show – a 68 metre superyacht project that’s currently under construction in Antalya, Turkey. The new yacht won’t be released until 2017, but that’s not stopping Sunrise Yachts from showing her off in London this week. The Sunrise 68m promises to be “the finest balance between elegance and strength, beauty and space”, with unique features including walk-around platforms, a beach area and a fitness club. We can’t wait to see it…
Also watch out for the Fairline Targa 38, Tony Castro and his team, Sunseeker London and, of course, the Queen’s Row-Barge ‘Gloriana’, which will be the centrepiece for the on-water show at St Katharine Docks.
The Private Jets
Moving on from the yachts to watch out for, let’s turn our attention to the skies and the LYJAPCS’s line-up of jets…
The Eclipse 550 Jet has a claim to fame that’s no small feat: it’s the most efficient twin-engine jet on the planet. It can fly at altitudes of up to 41,000ft at a maximum cruising speed of 430mph, all while consuming a mere 59 gallons of fuel per hour. Add to that ergonomically designed interiors made from the finest materials and the most robust set of safety features available in the light jet market, and there’s no better way to travel.
The HondaJet is Honda’s first ever venture into the world of the commercial aircraft, and it will be revealed for the first time in London. It’s touted as the fastest, highest-flying, quietest and most fuel-efficient jet in its class and the world’s most advanced light business jet aircraft, powered by two GE Honda HF120 turbofan jet engines and equipped with the most sophisticated glass flight deck available in a light business jet. Definitely an impressive piece of kit.
The Prestige Cars
The ‘Best of British’ display will show off a range of Britain’s top automotive brands and their latest releases…
Aston Martin will be showing off their new V12 Vantage S, the fastest series production Aston Martin have ever made. How did they do it? First of all, they put a V12 engine into their lightest ever sports car. Then they made the chassis lighter, the engine more powerful and transmission more responsive – and this is the result.
Princess Yachts are supplying two latest model Rolls-Royce vehicles to transport VIP guests between the exhibition venue at Old Billingsgate and the on-water show at St Katharine Docks – and when they’re off duty, they’ll be on display at St Katharine Docks.
Stratstone Jaguar/Landrover are going all out for the London Yacht Jet and Prestige Car Show: the Jaguar F Type, the brand new Landrover Discover Sport and a “very special” Range Rover Sport (what the “very special” part entails remains a mystery) will all be on display.
The Best of the Rest
In addition to all the best ways to get around, the London Yacht Jet and Prestige Car Show will have plenty more luxurious goods and services to peruse…
When you dock your super yacht, land your private jet and park up the Aston Martin, you’ll need somewhere a bit less mobile to call home, and that’s where Harrods Estates come in. One of the world’s most exclusive real estate specialists, Harrods Estates display their properties in the famous Harrods store windows on Brompton Road, but they’re bringing the best to the LYJAPCS, including a brand new development of luxury apartments designed by the world-renowned architects of the Burj Khalifa.
To provide the soundtrack to London’s most prestigious event, Iconic Connect have teamed up with California Audio Technology to play music in the LYJAPCS’s champagne bars through some of the most valuable and high performance speakers in the world. Worth an estimated $450,000, the speakers are a showcase of Icon Connect’s technology which can be custom built to suit any space or requirement.
Kevin Glancy supply tableware and accessories including porcelain, crystal and silver to super yachts, luxury residences and private aircraft all over the world, and they have sourced two special pieces to show off their work at the LYJAPCS. First up, a Puiforcat sterling silver tea service will be on display in the UK for the very first time (it’s one of a 20-piece limited edition creation). The second piece is a 24k gold panther designed by Leone Villari and adorned with amber Swarovski elements. Definitely worth checking out.
If you’re a coffee connoisseur, don’t miss out on the chance to sample the two most exclusive coffees in the world: KL Ruby and KL Diamond. KL Ruby is a smooth, rich Wild Kopi Luwak coffee – only 100 kilos are harvested each year and it’s shipped off to private clients, making it incredibly difficult to get your hands on. Even more rare is the KL Diamond, which will be served for the first time. At £32,500 per kilo or £325 per cup, it’s the most sought-after coffee in the world. Enjoy!
The London Yacht Jet and Prestige Car Show will be held at Old Billingsgate and St Katharine Docks, London EC3 from Wednesday 8th-Friday 10th April 2015. Click here for more information and a full list of exhibitors.
