Is it a bird? Is it a plane? It’s better – it’s a flying sports car.
That’s right – the star of this week’s Littlefish Loves is the AeroMobil, a vehicle that you can fly to work in (smugly breezing over that rush-hour traffic) and then park up in your normal parking space.
It transitions from an automobile to an airplane in seconds, and you don’t need to head to an airport to take off or land – any grass strip or paved surface that’s a few hundred metres long will do.
It’s built from advanced composite material and features advanced technology such as a variable angle of collapsible wings (which shortens the length of ground needed for take-off) and sturdy suspension allowing it to take off and land even on rough terrain.
In its aeroplane form, it’ll reach top speeds of 124mph, while the automobile setting will do up to 99mph.
Want one? You’ll have to wait a little longer. The AutoMobil is currently in its final prototype stage and is undergoing a flight-testing program. It’s expected to be on sale by 2017 – and the price has yet to be confirmed, but it estimated at several hundred thousand Euros.
