1. The Race for Life
The lowdown: Female traders only, please! This series of 5k or 10k fun runs is the UK’s largest women-only charity event, and it’s all in aid of beating cancer. There are 300 different events to choose from so you’ve got no excuse not to get involved. The races are just for women but bring your hubbies, brothers and dads along- they can show their support by volunteering to help out on the day, or just cheer you on.

2. Triathlon England
The cause: You choose
What you can do: Swim, cycle and run
Where it is: All over England
When it is: Dates vary depending on your location
The lowdown: If you think you can do more than just run, get involved in a Triathlon and swim, cycle and run to show your support to your chosen charity. Triathlon England have a range of events, so it doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or aspiring Olympian. Still sound too much? You can also enter a team of three and split the sports between you.

3. Aspire Channel Swim 2014
The lowdown: If you want something you can fit around your busy trading week, this might just be the thing. Aspire, a charity providing support to spinal cord injury patients, are challenging you to swim 22 miles in 12 weeks- the distance of the English Channel. You can do it whenever you like, wherever you like, so you can swim in your lunch hour or to unwind after a day of trading.

What you can do: Hold a quiz
Where is it: You choose the venue
When it is: You choose the date
The lowdown: If triathlons, trekking, swimming and cycling are just a little bit too energetic for you, you’ll be pleased to know you don’t have to don your trainers to make a difference. Donate your brainpower instead by hosting a charity quiz to help Christian Aid fight poverty and injustice. Get your friends, family and colleagues involved and you can choose the topic- whether sports, films or general knowledge are your forte.

5. b-eat China Trek
The lowdown: If you want to travel and experience some culture while fundraising for a great cause, sign up for BEAT’s China Trek. You’ll get to walk the Great Wall, visit Bejing and much more- and all the while, you’ll be making money to help raise awareness of eating disorders, provide support to those affected, improve services and treatment and help more people to beat eating disorders. (If China’s a tad too far to go, there’s lots more destinations you can choose from).

6. The Rugby Gala
The cause: Great Ormond Street Hospital
What you can do: Dine and dance the night away
Where it is: Rosewood London
When it is: 8th September
The lowdown: Do your bit in style at GOSH’s Rugby Gala by donning your black tie and DJ, dining and dancing the night away- all in the name of charity. Proceeds will fund Great Ormond Street hospital’s pioneering research. So enjoy a champagne reception, three-course meal, a special guest music performance and a Q&A with some famous faces from the world of rugby… all for a good cause.

7. RSPCA Skydive
The cause: The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
What you can do: Jump out of a plane
Where it is: 20 different parachute centres across the UK
When it is: Dates available across the year (weather dependent)
The lowdown: Feeling brave? Why not sign up for a skydive? You’ll jump out of a plane 10,000ft high in the sky to raise money for the oldest animal welfare charity around, who work tirelessly to prevent cruelty to animals. You don’t need any prior experience, but you will need nerves of steel…

8. London to Milton Keynes Bike Ride
The cause: British Heart Foundation
What you can do: Cycle
Where it is: From London to Milton Keynes
When it is: 10th October
The lowdown: If you’re not quite up to Tour de France standard but are up for a cycling challenge, ride the 55 miles from London to Milton Keynes – you choose whether to stick to the road or tackle an off-road cycle. You can do it on your own, as a team or in a relay (or set up a few teams with your trading colleagues to add a bit of competition). It’s all in aid of keeping hearts healthy, and the cycling will certainly get yours racing.

9. Tough Mudder
The lowdown: Go up against obstacles like the Hero Wall, Hangin’ Tough, the Boa Constrictor, Trench Warfare, the Electric Eel and Everest in a 10-12 mile (18-20km) challenge. It’ll test your strength, stamina and mental grit- and the website promises you’ll get an orange headband and bragging rights to take to work on Monday morning.
